Massage FAQ – Dewdrop Massage in Arvada, CO
Common questions about massage therapy sessions, what to wear, and how Dewdrop Massage works in Arvada, Colorado.
How early should I arrive for my appointment?
Plan to arrive about 5–10 minutes early. That gives us time to check in about your goals, any new injuries or health changes, and lets you settle before we begin your massage in Arvada.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice so that time can be offered to someone else. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged the full session fee at Dewdrop Massage in Arvada.
Do I have to undress for a massage?
No. You undress only to the level that feels comfortable for you. For table work, most people undress to underwear and are professionally draped with sheets and a blanket. Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time, and you can request more coverage whenever you like during your therapeutic massage session.
What should I wear for Thai work or floor-based sessions?
For Thai-style work, wear clothing you can move and stretch in, such as a T-shirt and joggers or leggings. Avoid stiff jeans, belts, bulky pockets, or anything that digs into your skin so you can move freely and stay comfortable on the mat.
Can I get a massage if I’m under 18?
Yes, with parental or guardian consent. A parent or guardian will need to sign intake forms and be present in the room during the session for anyone under 18.
Will you talk during my massage? Am I supposed to talk?
We’ll keep conversation to what supports your session. Some people like quiet, others relax best with a little small talk. You are always welcome to speak up about pressure, comfort, or anything you need, and then rest in silence if that feels best.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, sessions at Dewdrop Massage are private pay and not billed directly to insurance. Many clients are able to use HSA or FSA cards if their plan allows; check with your provider for details.
Are tips required?
Tips are never required. If you choose to leave one, it’s appreciated. The most important thing is that your session feels accessible and sustainable for you.
Will my massage hurt?
Some techniques can feel intense, especially on tight or tired tissue, but you should always be able to breathe and relax through it. If anything feels like too much pressure or sharp pain, say something right away and the work will be adjusted.
What should I do if I feel uncomfortable at any point?
Speak up immediately. You can ask to change pressure, position, techniques, or end the session early. Your body and boundaries lead the way, and adjustments are always possible.
What if I get an erection during my massage?
Massage affects the nervous system and circulation, and sometimes bodies respond in ways we don’t plan. A spontaneous erection is not automatically a problem as long as behavior and intent stay appropriate. If you feel self-conscious, you’re welcome to mention it and we’ll keep working in a professional way.
Dewdrop Massage is a therapeutic practice only. Sexual comments, requests, or behavior are not permitted, and the session will end immediately if that boundary is crossed.
I was recently sick. Should I still come in?
If you’ve had a fever, stomach bug, flu-like symptoms, or feel like you might be coming down with something, it’s better to reschedule. Massage can sometimes intensify symptoms, and staying home helps protect other clients and the therapist.
What if I have acne, scars, body hair, or forgot to shave?
You are welcome exactly as you are. Body hair, scars, stretch marks, and skin texture are all normal and do not interfere with your session. The focus is on how your body feels, not how it looks.
Can I bring my own oils or lotions?
Personal product use will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you have sensitive skin or a product you love, you can bring it to your session. Please mention any allergies or sensitivities ahead of time so products can be chosen that work well for you.
How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your body, goals, and budget. Some people come weekly during a flare-up or heavy training block, then shift to every 3–4 weeks for maintenance. Others book as needed when tension builds up. We can talk through a plan that fits your life and your reasons for seeking massage in Arvada.
What should I do after my massage?
Drink some water, move gently, and give your body a little time to integrate the work. Mild soreness can happen, especially after deeper sessions; light stretching, a warm shower, or a heat pack can feel supportive. If anything feels unusual or concerning, you can reach out with questions.
Ready to schedule or still deciding?
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you book. We’ll check in at the beginning of your session and shape the massage around what your body needs that day in Arvada, CO.
